Most parents and people in general struggle with making the most of their time. This is why I’m kicking off a series on productivity. Productivity is one of my favorite topics to read, listen, and talk about. I”m really trying to give you listeners topics that you are interested in, and productivity is something that parents in my Facebook group and at my office have said they struggle with.
This episode is kicking off the series on productivity, and I’m going to talk about how to get the things done that need to be done while still being a great parent and attentive spouse. I recently did an Instagram story about a day in the life and one of my commenters said she didn’t know how I got so much done before 10:00 AM. I’m far from perfect, but I have a lot of tips and tricks to share.
In This Episode:
[03:07] – Over the next month, I’m going to talk about how to be more productive. The purpose of the productivity that I will be talking about is being able to do what matters and what only you can do, so that you can focus on your family, marriage and personal well being.
[03:40] – Overwhelmed parents have trouble planning ahead. Instead of thinking about the goals for the year, they are stuck just worrying about lunch.
[03:59] – No one teaches us this stuff. We are just thrown into life and business, while everyone on social media is doing everything perfectly.
[04:56] – On top of trying to get everything done, our children’s behavior doesn’t always meet our expectations.
[05:26] – There really has to be a balance of things. It’s my hope that this series will help you find some things that apply to you.
[05:31] – Some topics I’ll talk about include family meetings, goal setting, rituals, and shortcuts to make these things happen on a regular basis.
[06:44] – Another often overlooked topic that I’m going to touch on is how to rest and not feel guilty.
[08:26] – The overall purpose of the series isn’t going to be to get more done or to have the perfectly manicured home, it’s going to be about getting done what needs to get done, so you can focus on what matters.
